Richard is the younger twin brother of the Crown Prince of Asilia, who grew up without most of the responsibilities his brother had... and it shows. He's an incorrigible playboy who will happily flirt with anyone who catches his eye; the type of guy to act without thinking, who's happy to try anything once if it sounds fun enough. Cheeky and sharp-witted, Richard has the personality to go with his handsome looks - he's the type of guy who can charm anyone he comes across, and he's definitely grown to be known as the 'face' of the Asilia family. This... isn't always a good thing. (The family spends a lot of time trying to cover up scandals.)
Despite his flighty nature, though - and his proclivity for sneaking out at inopportune hours - Richard has a responsible side to him. He's the one who helps with the social side of the Royal politics, buttering up nobles and persuading lords to do the right thing when William can't convince them. Even though they're polar opposites, Richard and William make a good team, and they get along surprisingly well, considering how often they bicker.
He has a kind heart, too, underneath his cool, detached exterior; Richard is great at helping his friends deal with their feelings, and if someone's having trouble with something, he's surprisingly good at emotionally supporting them. Extremely ironic, considering the way he handles his own emotions - he craves attention and validation, but goes about it in all the wrong ways, and as soon as a relationship starts to veer into emotionally vulnerable territory, he's out of there.
